Vallda Golf & Country Club

Vallda Golf & Country Club

Vallda hosted the well-known, DP World Tour event The Scandinavian Mixed 2022.

Vallda is located in Kungsbacka just south of Sweden's second largest city Gothenburg. In the Göteborg area you will find some 30 quality golf courses, amongst them Sweden's oldest course, Göteborg Golf Club and the modern Hills Golf Club. Making its mark in such a fine company is a tall order, but the team at Vallda Golf & Country club has managed to deliver against the promise.

The vision was to create a course with the playing qualities of the classic heathland courses and renowned architect Martin Hawtree and his associate Caspar Grauballe created a course that although not particularly long is a fair test for both the low and high handicap player. It is generous from the tee for the long handicap player, and for the short handicap player the tricky green areas present an exhilarating challenge.

A classic heathland course which offers a challenge to amateurs and professionals alike

The golf course was created with inspiration from the traditional Scottish heathland courses, with hard ground.

It was designed by Martin Hawtree, who represents Hawtree Limited, the English family business which has been designing golf courses since 1912. Bearing in mind our common vision when it comes to golf architecture, traditional use of terrain and challenging greens every time your play, it was a simple choice.

The greens in particular are a Hawtree trademark. His portfolio features hundreds of courses, including Royal Birkdale, in England, Portmarnock and Lahinch, in Ireland, and Royal Melbourne, in Australia.

Vallda opened in 2009 and are ranked as No.6 in Sweden. The course is a Par 72 and messure almoust 6500meters.
